Mr. Tambourine Man - 10" single-sided metal acetate, Warner Bros (no catalogue number) (USA), 1970s, surfaced Mar 2015:

Picture from eBay (R-1227)
This single-sided music publisher's acetate contains an edited version of Mr. Tambourine Man and was created by Warner Bros Music Corporation (who owned Witmark & Sons) in Los Angeles, CA, in the early to mid-1970s. It was offered for sale on eBay in Mar 2015. I've included this because it has been authenticated as genuine and the picture is a scan, not a digital photo of horrible quality as usually found on eBay!

R-1227-2 Mr. Tambourine Man - edited version (3:50) of Bringing It All Back Home album track, from Warner Bros music publisher's acetate, 1970s, surfaced 2015

Thanks to Gerd Rundel for finding this acetate on eBay and to Jeff Gold of Record Mecca for authenticating it. Thanks to André Wilbers for finding that a very similar edit was included on a 1970s CBS Italy cassette release of Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits, see 1967.

Bob Dylan/The Band - "The Basement Tape" - mono vinyl LP releases, Other People's Music OPM 261-281 (Canada)/Columbia/Legacy 88875064261-281 (USA), 18 Apr 2015:

As part of Record Store Day on 18 Apr 2015 in the USA and UK (also Holland) there were vinyl releases of The Basement Tape signed by Garth Hudson, available in mono only. They reproduce the original 1968 Emidisc UK 14 track test pressing LP, reportedly the source of the songs made available to UK groups such as Manfred Mann (The Mighty Quinn), The Brian Auger Trinity/Julie Driscoll (This Wheel's On Fire), Fairport Convention (Million Dollar Bash), etc., see 1968. None of the tracks were thought to be rarities, but Peter Coulthard points out that at the start of This Wheel's on Fire Bob is heard to sing/mumble softly "If your mem'ry serves you well..."  This fragment of singing ahead of the first strummed note does not occur on the 6CD set The Bootleg Series Vol. 11 - The Basement Tapes Complete. so these albums have been added here as containing a rarity. For full details see The Bootleg Series Vol. 11 - The Basement Tapes Raw/Complete page of International Album Releases (Regular Dylan Albums).

R-1653 This Wheel's On Fire - unedited version with Bob intro
It is possible that this intro also occurs on the 1968 test pressing LP, confirmation required!

Other People's Music OPM 281 (Canada)/Columbia/Legacy 88875064261 (USA), 18 Apr 2015 (200gm pink vinyl edition):

Other People's Music OPM 281 (Canada)/ Columbia/Legacy 88875064281 (USA) - front with wraparound sleeve, photo by Steven Fant (200gm pink vinyl edition)
The pink vinyl release has a pink wraparound obi-style sleeve with the track list and other information inside a thin clear polythene sleeve. On the 180gm and 130gm versions below this wraparound sleeve is blue. The record has white "Emidisc" labels with a "stained" appearance reproducing one variant of the 1968 acetate, but with some song titles corrected. The copy shown is numbered #124, and is hand-numbered in black with "1,000" stamped in red.

It states on the labels that the album was released by Other People's Music Inc., Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Each version of the album also has a pink insert with a reproduction of the article by Jann Wenner in the US magazine "Rolling Stone", 22 Jun 1968, entitled "DYLAN'S BASEMENT TAPE SHOULD BE RELEASED". Now it has been, exactly as first released in 1968.

Bruce Mulle points out that the Garth Hudson signature on the pink vinyl edition is slightly raised, whereas the hand-stamped signatures on the black vinyl editions are smooth. Steven Fant confirms this and thinks that Garth signed the copies using a calligraphy pen with thick black ink.

The 180gm black vinyl release now has a blue wraparound obi-style sleeve. The hand stamped text is also in blue. Garth Hudson's signature is now stamped. The copies have been hand numbered in black with "2,500" stamped in red.

The record labels have the same text and catalogue number as the 200gm pink vinyl edition. They are identical to those of the 130gm black vinyl edition below. This edition also has the same pink "Rolling Stone" insert.

The copies have been hand numbered in black with "2,500" stamped in red. The record labels have the same text and catalogue number as those of the 200gm pink vinyl and 180gm black vinyl editions. Lloyd Green's appointment book, Jul 1970, photo from Ronald Born
R-1226 If Not For You (2:35) - previously unreleased version of track from New Morning with overdub by Lloyd Green on pedal steel (on CD2)
Dag Braathen says this is the same take as on The Bootleg Series, Vol. 10 - Another Self Portrait (1969-1971), recorded at Columbia Studios, New York, 2 Jun 1970, but with the violin mixed down and steel guitar overdubbed by Lloyd Green on pedal steel. Thanks to Ronald Born for information that a friend of his visited Lloyd Green in Nashville, TN, in 2019 and was allowed to look through his appointment books, which date back to the 1960s. He discovered that Lloyd recorded these overdubs at Columbia Studio B, Nashville, TN, on 23 Jul 1970.

This 2CD set also includes Absolutely Sweet Marie from Blonde On Blonde, I'll Be Your Baby Tonight from John Wesley Harding, Girl Of The North Country (with Johnny Cash) from Nashville Skyline, as well as It Ain't Me, Babe by Johnny Cash, Down In The Flood by Flatt & Scruggs, This Wheel's On Fire by Ian & Sylvia, and You Ain't Goin' Nowhere by The Byrds. Thanks to Éamonn Ó Catháin for information from the Steve Hoffman Forum that this version of Absolutely Sweet Marie is the newly remixed version from the 18CD set The Bootleg Series Vol. 12 -  Bob Dylan 1965-1966 The Cutting Edge Collector's Edition (CD 15, track 6), released in Nov 2015.

The front sticker is the same as the US sticker apart from the fact that "S1" at the end of the vertically printed catalogue number is missing. Unlike the US set, both discs have the same catalogue number.

"Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits" - hybrid SA-CD release, Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab UDSACD 2120 (USA), 2015:

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab UDSACD 2120 (USA) - picture from Mobile Fidelity web-site (2015 SA-CD release)
Thanks to Adam S for information about this hybrid SA-CD, released by Mobile Fidelity under licence from Columbia in 2015 as a limited numbered edition in a folded card sleeve. This album is in stereo, not 5.1 surround sound, and was not one of the fifteen Dylan titles released on hybrid SA-CD by Columbia in 2003. As this is the first time this album has been released in hybrid SA-CD format. I am therefore classifying it as a single rarity.

. The version which appears in the 2014 TV episode is different, see VHS & DVD 2010s.

I originally thought this track had been overdubbed but the analysis by Bob and Peter, supported by David Goldsmith, is that the track has just has been remastered from the version included on the withdrawn version of The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (R-0017, see 1963). Thanks to Lars-Arne Klintworth for spotting that the booklet says this track was engineered by Ben Tanner at Sun Drop Sound Studios in Florence, AL. Freeze Out, an early version of Visions Of Johanna, recorded at Columbia Studios, New York, 30 Nov/1 Dec 1965, surfaced in 1980 on unreleased Columbia acetates (R-0396, see 1980)
This is not the take which was released in Sep 2005 on The Bootleg Series Vol. 7: No Direction Home, but it is definitely one of the takes from the The Bootleg Series Vol. 12 - Bob Dylan 1965-1966 The Cutting Edge Collector's Edition, as yet I don't know which. If it's one of the complete takes on the 6CD set, R-0396 will cease to be a rarity.

This was previously listed as another occurrence of R-0401, Keep It With Mine - instrumental version of I'll Keep It With Mine, out-take from Blonde On Blonde, recorded Columbia Studios, Nashville, TN, 15-16 Feb 1966, see The Goldmine Acetates, 1980. However, that performance, although the same take identified by the drumming sound at 0:50, has a harmonica solo, not present here. This explains the higher R-number. Larry Crum thinks the harmonica is an overdub. R-0401 with the harmonica solo turned up again in 2005 on the soundtrack of a film called The Wendell Baker Story, see VHS & DVD 2000s Part 3) and was also in the 2007 Todd Haynes film I'm Not There, see VHS & DVD 2000s Part 4).
