Anders Lindh says that R-0209 uses an edited version of the same instrumental take as the longer promo video with intro and fade-out removed, but has an almost entirely different vocal take with all four verses. For a 1990 Columbia Records Video VHS compilation containing a 4:47 edit of the 5:45 promo video, also see VHS & DVD 1990-94 (Verse 2 is missing from this edited video). This promo single also contained the complete 1989 Oh Mercy version (5:01).

Thanks to Stuart Sonshine for correcting the recording date. Thanks to David Plentus, André Wilbers, T. J. Jenkins, Carsten Bauman and Anders Lindh for information and scans.

Thanks to Fred Muller for finding There Is A Season, a 2006 Sony Music 4CD Byrds set that contains a version of Mr. Tambourine Man on CD4. Thanks to Dag Braathen and Bob Stacy for confirming this is a live version from 1973 used in the film "Banjoman", not R-0217.
