The 5CD Deluxe Edition was not in the end a limited release so the additional tracks it contains are not rarities. This photo of Bob (reversed) taken by Ken Regan in 1984 was used on an insert with the Japanese release of Real Live in 1984 and on an Empire Burlesque 7" single in 1985, see International Singles: Singles & EPs 1984-86.

This track was previously released on international 7" singles as the B-side of
Heart Of Mine and is listed as rarity R-0154 in 1981.
It remains a rarity as it's not on the 2CD/2LP Standard Edition. Also, the 2021
version is very different from the 1981 version. It is immediately apparent as a
different mix from the original B-side - there are some extra guitar strums
before the song starts on the single and the guitar has been mixed down behind
the organ at the beginning of the song.

This track is listed as rarity R-0897 in 2011
when it was released on the soundtrack of the CBS release
Hawaii Five-O: Original Songs From The Television Series.
It is on the 2CD/2LP Standard Edition, but
Sonny Boy McFitzson and David Goldsmith point out that the 2011 version has an overdubbed
steel drum intro not present on the original out-take to be found on bootleg
albums and on this remastered version here. R-0897 therefore remains a rarity.
This song was also released with revised lyrics by Nikki Jean on her 2011 S-Curve US album Pennies In A Jar as

*Bob was accompanied on the NBC TV show "Late Nite
With David Letterman" in New York on 22 Mar 1984 by The Plugz, who were
later known as the Cruzados.
They supported Bob for three songs: Don't Start Me Talkin' (the
Sonny Boy Williamson blues number), Jokerman and License To Kill. A three track
bootleg EP called Bob Dylan & The Plugz circulated after that. Bob also played harmonica for The Plugz on a track called Rising Sun in 1983. This was included on a privately-produced album, Cruzados - Unreleased Early Recordings, released in the USA in 2000 (R-0452, see 2000). |

this 4LP collection (pressed at Third Man Pressing in Detroit) full of
previously-unreleased outtakes, mixes and more, complete with a 16-page
booklet of liner notes and track notations, and four uniquely-coloured LPs in
their own individual LP sleeves, all housed together in an impressive custom
slipcase. The songs on the Third Man Vault package will be the only vinyl
release of those 42 songs. There is no material overlap between the 2LP

the release of an exclusive limited edition 7" stereo single with two takes
of Blind Willie McTell on 20 Aug 2021. Take 1 on the A-side is unique to
this single, Take 5 on the B-side is from Springtime In New York: The
Bootleg Series, Vol. 16 (1980-1985), on the 2CD set and the Columbia 2LP
set below. Thanks to Aaron Derfel and Steve Perrin for pointing out that a quote from the song is etched in the vinyl on both sides with “ALL THE WAY FROM NEW ORLEANS” on the A-side and “TO NEW JERUSALEM” on the B-side, the quotes being continued on the 4LP set above. For full details see 2021. |

"The Bootleg Series Vol. 16 - Springtime In New York 1980-1985" - 2LP set: Columbia/Legacy 19439865791 (USA)/ Columbia/Legacy/Sony Music 19439865791 (Europe), 17 Sep 2021:
This set has only 11 tracks and is marketed as "Highlights"! All 11 tracks are also on the 2CD release. The US vinyl set will be imported into Japan. It comes in a gatefold sleeve which is wider (box-shaped) on the right to hold both records. The opening to remove the records is inside the gatefold sleeve. There is also a twenty eight page 12" booklet and the records have printed inner sleeves.

The US front sticker has "19439865791S1" while the European sticker has just "19439865791". The US release has no "SONY MUSIC" logo and "Made in France" on bottom rear while the Europe release has "Made in the EU". The inner sleeves and booklet look the same for both releases. The US record labels have different circumference text. |

Sony Music Japan announced on 28 Jul 2021 that pre-orders for the 5CD set by the end of 12 Aug 2021 of the 5CD set would include a bonus four tin badge set. The other bonus is a postcard featuring cover artwork. This one is available as long as supply lasts, for both 2CD and 5CD sets. |

The Japanese 5CD set includes the imported English language colour books and outer case plus a 92-page Japanese booklet with translation of the English liner notes, Japanese liner notes plus lyrics in English and Japanese. The price is ￥18,000 plus tax. It comes in a card sleeve encased in clear plastic holding the outer case and contents plus the Japanese booklet. The card sleeve replaces the normal obi.
