This is a separate multi-year list by release date of commercially-released Various Artist stereo compilation albums released in 2004 that have been referred to me but do not qualify for my Searching For A Gem list because they contain only Bob Dylan performances which are available on officially released Dylan albums. Nevertheless, their interest value or scarcity means they're worth listing here - as far as I know some are not included on any other Internet site. Promo-only Various Artist compilation albums with Dylan tracks are now included in this list. Other International Albums and Compilations are now here:

There must be hundreds of these albums from round the world! If you have any entries to add to the list or additions/corrections to existing entries, please let me know! Please note I cannot value your Dylan rarities - see the Mission page for reasons why. Contact the dealers on my Trading page for assistance!

Various Artists - "Best of Acoustic" - 2CD set, Echo/V2 Records ECV 24 (UK), 12 Jan 2004:

Echo/V2 Records ECV 24 (UK) - slipcase front, scan by Hans Seegers
Bob's contribution is Just Like A Woman from Blonde On Blonde. Other contributors to this set are Leonard Cohen, The Byrds, Nick Drake, Simon & Garfunkel and Eva Cassidy. The set came in a white slipcase.

Just Like A Woman and The Byrd's version of Mr. Tambourine Man are on CD2. For the associated 2003 set Acoustic 3, with She Belongs To Me, see the 2003 page in this International Compilations list (links at top and bottom of this page). This 2004 set cannot be a compilation of the "best" of the three previous releases, since Just Like A Woman did not appear on any of them! There is a Shock Records Australia 2CD compilation called The Best Of Acoustic listed on the 2008 page of this list, but there appears to be no connection between that and this set.

Thanks to Éamonn Ó Catháin for information and to Hans Seegers for scans.

Various Artists - "My Dear Music Lovers" - hybrid SA-CD compilation, Sony Music MHCP 10019 (Japan), 18 Feb 2004:

Sony Music MHCP 10019 (Japan) - picture from amazon.com
This hybrid SA-CD release includes Simple Twist Of Fate from the 2003 Sony Music Japan SA-CD release of Blood On The Tracks. The compilation is listed as stereo, so I assume it does not include the 5.1 surround sound version of the track to be found on the 2003 release.

Thanks to Éamonn Ó Catháin for information.

Virgin/EMI VTDCD 608 (UK) - rear insert scan by Hans Seegers

Virgin/EMI VTDCD 608 (UK) - CD scan by Hans Seegers

John Lennon's jukebox from the 1960s still exists with its original contents and labels handwritten by John Lennon himself, as illustrated on the front insert of the CD. There were 41 7" singles inside, and the album has all 41 A-sides. The jukebox must therefore contain the original 1965 7" US Columbia or UK CBS single with Positively 4th Street/From A Buick 6 - see Mono 7" Singles & EPs 1965.

Thanks to Éamonn Ó Catháin for information. Thanks also to Harold Lepidus for the information that the TV programme was shown on PBS in the USA on 9 Sep 2004. Thanks to Hans Seegers for scans.
