This is a separate multi-year list by release date of commercially-released Various Artist stereo compilation albums released in 2001 that have been referred to me but do not qualify for my Searching For A Gem list because they contain only Bob Dylan performances which are available on officially released Dylan albums. Nevertheless, their interest value or scarcity means they're worth listing here - as far as I know some are not included on any other Internet site. Promo-only Various Artist compilation albums with Dylan tracks are now included in this list. Other International Albums and Compilations are now here:
There must be hundreds of these albums from round the world! This page is incomplete. If you have any entries to add to the list or additions/corrections to existing entries, please let me know! Please note I cannot value your Dylan rarities - see the Mission page for reasons why. Contact the dealers on my Trading page for assistance!
Revised 16 September, 2024.

SMM
500748 2 (France),
2001:
Franck Faugere says. "This double CD is in memory of
a famous French TV show which was called "Les Enfants du Rock" (Children of
Rock). It was on a public channel between 1981 and 1983. On the rear of the inside booklet there
is a photo where you can see Pierre Lescure on the left. He was the
producer of the show and became later the manager of the French private
channel "Canal +". Then he became number two of the sadly famous company "Vivendi"
which bought Universal. The man with the black glasses is
Philippe Manoeuvre, he is the chief editor of "Rock & Folk" a French
magazine. On the second CD you can find Jokerman
from Bob. I think it's the regular version but remastered."

This 38-track Christmas compilation for radio stations from Sony Music Japan in a slimline 2CD jewel case features several Christmas songs, as well as tracks by Mariah Carey, Aerosmith, Destiny's Child, ELO, etc. Bob's contribution is Summer Days from "Love And Theft" on CD2 - an odd seasonal choice! There is a single 8-page folded front insert. The interior of the insert features colour and monochrome reproductions of each of the album sleeves from which these tracks are taken, plus a short comment on each in Japanese. The cover photo is of Jade Anderson. The double-sided rear insert has track listings for both discs in Japanese and English. For 1990s albums in this series, see the 1990s pages of this list. This film was directed by Bob's long-time friend Cameron Crowe, who also directed Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire (see 1996 and VHS & DVD 1990s Part 2), and who wrote the sleeve notes for Biograph (see 1985 and 1997). For the film release, see VHS & DVD: Films with Dylan Album Tracks 2000s Part 1.
The Dylan contribution is 4th Time Around, the live version from The Bootleg Series Vol. 4: Live 1966, The "Royal Albert Hall" Concert. Another Dylan song intended for inclusion, but which does not appear in either the film or on the soundtrack album, was Bob's cover of Willie Nelson's Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground (R-0156), released in 1983 as a 7" single B-side (see 1983). This appeared on a promo CD single in 2000.
